In the frame of ROME INTERNATIONAL Art Fair, Studio Frischherz presents the sculpture LOVERS TWENTY GOLD PLATED by Rolf Frischherz. The exhibition is taking place from August 8 to September 12, 2024 at Medina Art Gallery located in a prestigious historical building, a few minutes walk from Colosseum and Roman Forum. The sculpture LOVERS TWENTY GOLD PLATED is a limited edition of 3D printed replicas of the original 2020 sculpture LOVERS, one of the artist's most important and well-known works, currently on display at Palazzo Mora during La Biennale di Venezia in Venice. LOVERS TWENTY GOLD PLATED is a limited edition of twenty 3D printed replicas made in Switzerland in 2024. The pieces in this special edition have been covered by hand with a layer of gold leaf. The well-known motif of two lovers has been reworked by numerous artists over the centuries, including Vincent van Gogh and Renée Magritte. As a contemporary artist, Rolf Frischherz approaches the subject with his typically reduced and abstract visual language, in which the tender gesture of the embrace, of two intertwined bodies, is all the more recognisable.
